The Edw. C. Levy Company Was Founded in 1918 and Started by Providing Services to Steel Mills in the Midwest.

Schmidt Construction is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Detroit based Edw. C. Levy Co., an international family of companies that offers technology, products and services including:

 Asphalt manufacturing, paving and road construction.

 Aggregate production and the distribution of ready-mix concrete.

 Slag and steel mill services with operations in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.

Schmidt is one of Levy’s over 50 operating divisions and subsidiaries. Levy runs eight (8) asphalt companies and its aggregate operations operate in eight (8) states in North America with over 20 mining sites.

 Levy produces over 3.5 million tons of asphalt annually.

  Levy sells one (1) million tons of asphalt to third parties.

  Levy paves over one (1) thousand miles of roads per annum.

  Levy mines, processes and markets 20 million tons of natural aggregates per year, including granite, sand, gravel, rhyolite and limestone.

  Levy produces specialized products for unique applications, such as golf course sand, masonry products, building stone, etc.

In addition to major highway and infrastructure projects performed by Schmidt Construction in Colorado, other Levy Construction Divisions have completed projects ranging from assembly plant site development for General Motors Corp. in Michigan, to water treatment plant construction in Florida.
