A Commitment to Quality Drives All that Schmidt Does

Schmidt Construction houses a state-of-the-art asphalt and aggregate laboratory to ensure the highest attainable product quality. Recently Schmidt Construction was judged by the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) to be one of the top three asphalt producers for asphalt pavement quality in the State of Colorado.

The Schmidt Construction laboratory is an American Association for State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Materials Reference Laboratory (AMRL) certified. Its Employees are trained and certified to all applicable Colorado Asphalt Paving Association (CAPA) and National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technology (NICET) standards. In 2003, the Schmidt testing laboratory finished in the top 10% of all Colorado labs for testing accuracy and consistency.

Schmidt Construction also owns and operates the first and only contractor-owned high-speed laser profilometer to be utilized in Colorado. This is a computerized system that tests for pavement surface smoothness by recognizing and identifying minor flaws in the asphalt mat, thereby enhancing the finished quality of paving projects.
